I need 5 dental implants in my lower mouth area. I broke a bridge in October 2010 that couldn't be replaced. I have Medicaid which doesn't cover dental treatment for fixed dental bridges or partial dentures. A professor at UIC dental school, where I've been a dental patient for over seven years, told me I need to get some dental implants to fill those open spaces.
I'm a 54 year old very thin woman that's looks decent but with my teeth, won't smile anymore. I'm too thin because I can hardly eat regular foods. So I've been reduced to eating yogurt and sweet potatoes. On top of that, I'm vegetarian and have been diagnosed with ulcerative colitis since the age of 23. My doctors want me to gain weight but I can't.
My mother had 3 different sets of upper dental implants done while she was alive but it cost her $20,000 each time. She also had a good paying advertising job. I'm sure they would cost more now. But they did make a difference in making her look as pretty as she was.
Thank you for taking the time to let me ask for help. By the way, I still have a lot of root canals and crowns on my back teeth. The missing teeth are mostly located in the front, lower area of my mouth.
